What’s Calling You?

Do you know what’s calling you?  Calling you to live your life at a top level, an exciting level so that every day feels like an adventure?

I’ve been thinking about my calling, my purpose, whatever you may want to call it, and how I got to where I am now. This week I was at a conference with a lot of high-powered women, or so they seemed to me.  Many were part of big corporate organisations, and I felt a tad small at times when I was speaking for just me, the solopreneur. But they were all great, and of course up came the question “what do you do?” to be followed by “what made you get into coaching?”

So I explained how I had been a serial entrepreneur but finally realised that none of the companies I had set up really fulfilled me deep inside.  I had to figure what my real purpose was. And it had taken time.  I’d had to listen very closely to what my heart was telling me.  Most of the time it spoke so softly that I actually kept ignoring my new messages to myself.

It was quite a process. Eventually it all became clearer, the signs less jumbled up, the questions fewer.  I was afraid to start yet another “business” because of how I felt about the past. But then I got so sick of letting fear dictate my life, that in the end I felt like I had no other option but to take the plunge. Did I feel ready? Hell no! Do I struggle with doubt? Constantly! Do I regret my decision? Absolutely not! I’m happier now than I’ve been in a very long time, maybe ever. Following your calling and creating a life that’s right for you is the best gift you can give yourself.

Some of us know to our utmost core what our calling is. Some of us haven’t a clue and most people are not quite sure but carry on anyway.  But when you know, when you get it right, life changes. Your heart sings, you feel lit up, you know why you’re here and how you want to spend every precious day.  Did you see my quotation on the “Private Coaching” page?  Confucious said ““We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.”  Well said Confucious!

If you’re still struggling with your purpose and are not sure just how you should be spending the second part of your life, give me a call and let’s talk!
